Finał Wielkiej Orkiestry Świątecznej Pomocy (the Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) - The greatest charity event of the year takes place all over Poland on the first or second weekend of January.
Thanks to the charisma of the leader, Jurek Owsiak, within a dozen years since the first edition the Orchestra has become a nationwide phenomenon. The Final is organised in all major Polish cities, with numerous concerts, auctions and shows.
Everyone participating in the auction, i.e. giving money to fund collectors with special cans, is given a red heart sticker in return.

The Song of Songs Festival - at the end of June on the first weekend of the holidays is the biggest Christian festival of central Europe, and it is held here in Toruń. Foreign and Polish actors take part in the festival. Concerts take place in Toruń’s Old Town.

The Contact - the international theatre festival is held every year in the last week of May. Theatre groups from the whole world participate in it. The event is of a competitive nature. The festival also includes film shows, concerts and meetings with artists.

The Probaltica - a festival of music and art presenting the cultural output of all Baltic countries. It is held each year in May.

The Toruń Science and Art. Festival - in April over a number of days there are more than 100 meetings, lectures, presentations, trips and workshops designed to popularise Science and Art. Part of the event includes visits to laboratories, open to everyone. The trips to the UMK Astronomical Centre in Piwnice near Toruń are very popular.

The Toruń Music and Architecture - the international summer festival including music concerts at the most important architectural places of the city. From June to August, open on Saturdays and Sundays.

The City Holiday - Toruń celebrates its holiday on 24th June on St John the Baptist’s Day, the patron of the town. The majority of concerts, shows and inhabitants’ meetings take place on the Vistula Philadelphia Boulevard and on the Vistula common.

The Film Summer - for a week in July there are films shown in the city; outdoor concerts and vernissages take place.
